The Weight Loss Secret…

Ok, so you just saw the before & after pictures…you see the change. It worked for me. So you want to know what I did right? Well, if you mail me a self addressed stamped envelope and $10, I will send you my secret.

Still reading? Okay, you really don’t have to send me money. I will tell you for free – but if you already put the money in the mail, don’t worry…I will still take it.

Okay – so my secret? Everything you hear those nutty nutritionist’s say – DO IT…they actually know what they are talking about! It hard and is stupid – it is a pain in the ass. But guess what? It works! I work out about 5-6 days a week, about 45 minutes a day. Yep, it sounds like a lot – but if you want to be healthy (“skinny”) then you have to do the work.

If you are right now reading this and saying to yourself “okay – whatever, I can’t work out 5 days a week for 45 minutes” then you know what? stop reading. Just stop right now. If you do not want to work out and you do not want to eat healthy then FINE! Stop complaining and wasting everyone’s time, save yourself the frustration and embarressment of failing and stay the way you are.

I know, that was kind of harsh – huh? Reality. Welcome to the real world. Life is hard 🙂

I want to make sure you continue to read my blog so I’m not going to tell you everything I’ve learned in one post. I will continue to post to share with you things I’ve found useful and ways to make this entire “healthy living” easier for me. To start with, here is the biggest thing I’ve learned and have done for the past 10 months.

Get a calorie diary from the bookstore – they are under $20. Count every calorie…EVERY calorie. Total calories for me is 1200-1500/day (will be more for guys) until you hit your goal weight. Sure, fine you can go out to eat. But guess what? Before you go, log onto the restaurant website and figure out what you are going to eat. If you are lazy, call me. I will look it up and tell you you what you can eat. Oh, you ordered the ceaser salad because your on a diet? Good for you – good for you for eating your ENTIRE CALARORIC ALLOWANCE IN ONE MEAL. Those are the worst! Now you can’t have anything else until tomorrow. You think your being healthy by having a cup of soup and salad from panera? I am not going to make you cry by telling you the amount of calories in that little bitty itsy broccoli & chedder soup. You will be embarressed. When you went to chipolte and told yourself “Oh, I better be good and just order the bowl.” HAHA – how does it feel to know you just tricked yourself? Did you know that the average bowl has 1000 calories!!! You could eat 2 big macs for the same amount of calories! Those flippin calories hide everywhere! They are sneaky! But if you start anywhere, start with counting your calories.

When you receive inspiration & motivation from me, pay it forward.

Proof is in the pictures

There were days when it took every ounce of determination to get myself out of bed and to the gym. I gave up meeting my best friend for dinner or weekend lunches; something we did on a very regular basis. I gave up going out to eat with co-workers for lunch. I gave up valuable sleep time. I made being healthy a priority and allowed for nothing to get in the way. That means that when I went to someone’s house for dinner, I brought my own food – and smiled when they made fun of me. Instead of eating a bagel that someone brought to work, I watched everyone else eat it because I had to stick to my meal plan. Instead of eating the free lunch my boss would order for me, I ate my frozen meal. There were times I had to go down my stairs on my butt because my muscles hurt so much. I have been on the treadmill almost in tears because I was so tired. There are times I have to change shirts before leaving the gym locker room because my shirt is so wet from sweat – all of this to get these results:
Beginning Weight – August 7th – 240lbs
Current Weight – July 7th – 167lbs
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR: 73lbs

**Check out my first post for before pictures…

The past ten months have been full of tears, sore muscles, and a hell of a lot of sweat – but wow, what a journey! And the satisfaction of knowing that I am motivating so many other people, that people now look up to me? 100% WORTH IT; infact, it is reinforcement that people are now lookign to me which makes me want to work harder and continue down this path. So – to all of you who are reading this, I thank you!

When you receive inspiration and motivation from me and my story, pay it forward.

Wishing you a healthy lifestyle,
