Well. I spoke too soon about keeping momentum going. I have been sick and out of it all week – so after Monday, my workouts took a major hit. Thankfully, I was able to go to 90 minutes of hot yoga on Sunday, 60 minutes of hot yoga on Monday morning, and go for a 2 mile run on Monday afternoon. But after that – forget it…
So let me go back to my 2 mile run.
It was cold. I think it was about 37 degrees with a pretty unforgiving wind so I layered a wicking tee under a jacket, wore gloves and a hat, and zipped my jacket up to my chin. Once I warmed up, I was able to unzip my jacket a bit and unflap my gloves. I have to say these gloves are the best EVER for running! When the wind picked up and I got cold again, I could just flip the flap over the top. When I needed some air, I’d flip them back over and secure with the velcro.
I ran the path by the school again because it’s flat and I know it well. The first half a mile was a little rough and slow, but I was able to speed up a little bit once I found my groove. Despite the wind and cold temperature, I am pretty sure I prefer running in the cold to running in the heat of summer! After my run, I walked for a bit and took a few pictures. (I know I’ve been slacking on the photos).
I know a two mile run is not a big deal for serious runners, but I’m happy with how my training is going so far. I am trying to build a base slowly so that I don’t injure myself and it seems to be working out.
I 100% forgot to weigh in this morning so forgive the lack of a weight here. I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know what it would say anyway. Yikes.
I hope that I’ll start feeling better soon so I can do my long run and go to yoga this weekend. I may try a regular class (versus hot) since they’re less crowded but we’ll see how I feel.
I hope you all have a fantasic weekend!

Ugh – getting sick during training is the worst. Well – right next to being snowed in! I’m a little behind in training for my April half, but I’m excited to get back into a groove soon! Dang snow.
I was just reading your story and am very impressed with your journey. I just started blogging about my own weight losing goals and find your success very inspiring. Thanks for sharing all you’ve been through,
Great work on the two miles! I am getting back into running after an injury and any distance at all feels like an accomplishment!
