Despite the gloomy weather and a meh weigh-in, I’m not down in the dumps or letting anything get to me today. Why? Because it’s Friday. Because I choose to let these gains really fuel my desire to get the scale moving the other way. Because I ran a mile yesterday. And because I owe it to myself to stay positive!

I’m not at all surprised by a small gain. I think Liz and I were living the same kind of life this week: Super Bowl indulgences plus multiple days at home with our sick toddlers. And sorry for TMI, but I know I have PMS bloat when my boobs feel huge(er) and everything annoys me. (Side note: I really can’t wait for my boobs to shrink some more!) I avoided a bigger gain because I did manage to work out three times: personal training last Friday, 90 mins of hot vinyasa flow on Sunday, and some treadmill time yesterday. But the truth is, I have been a lazy bum when it comes to my own weight loss and that is just not okay anymore.
I’m not happy with the current upward trend on the scale and am saying this here now – loud and proud for all of the universe (or at least PFG readers) to see:
Today, I recommit to Weight Watchers. I will track everything (good and bad!). I will workout as planned. And I will see a loss on the scale next week!
So…my plan for this weekend:
- Personal training session today after work (can’t wait!)
- “Long” run tomorrow (haha, it’s a mile…I love the start of training!) – I’ll supplement by walking before/after
- 90 mins of hot vinyasa flow on Sunday
- Stock up on a lot more fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins
- Find some new recipes for the week (I’m looking at you, Skinnytaste, Emily Bites, and Weight Watchers)
I’ll recap my official half marathon week one training on Monday and will share how the weekend went (hopefully great!). I am ready to get back to business everyone. Woohoo!
