Weighing In

I feel like I should apologize for my lack of posting lately. Work has been crazy for the past two weeks but I finally turned in a few big projects this week and feel like I can breathe again. I also wasn’t able to shake the cold from last week and it turned into a sinus infection, so while I had great goals for Ripped in 30 in January, it just hasn’t happened yet. The good news is that I went to the doctor on Tuesday and the antibiotics have already lifted the fog in my brain and given me some energy back. Phew. I also managed to go to attend three hot yoga classes in the last week, which is probably why I was able to stay sane. :)

I’m happy with my weigh-in results, especially since I didn’t get in as much activity as I wanted. I made better food decisions and was still able to have some (healthier) comfort food when I wasn’t feeling well.

I am participating in a 10-week long fitness challenge at work and am on a team with two co-workers. We get points for weekly weigh-ins, food journaling, weekly personal training sessions (free!), fitness assessments, blood pressure monitoring, workouts, and for attending health and fitness discussions in our office. My team has also decided to do weekly mini-challenges, and next week’s challenge is to take the stairs instead of the elevator. I feel fortunate to work somewhere that takes fitness seriously; personal training sessions are $45/5 sessions ($9 each…seriously!) here but free for the teams during the challenge which is so awesome!

I have a couple of work trips coming up in the next few months and I’m looking forward to visiting new places and meeting some blogging friends. My hotel room for next week’s trip has a DVD player so I plan to take Ripped in 30 with me; I also plan to try to do some short runs in (hopefully) nice weather.

I’m hosting a girls’ afternoon tomorrow and can’t wait to see my girlfriends and drink some wine. I’m skipping my 8am hot yoga class in favor of hitting the grocery store and cleaning, but have signed up for my regular 12pm class on Sunday and a 5am class on Monday.

Besides the girly afternoon tomorrow and some awesome sweaty yoga classes, I have no other plans and am so excited to have Monday off! Do you have any long weekend plans? Any trips coming up?

For the long weekend I am writing a paper then getting my head back into the workout game. Been sick for way too long as well, and now i am finally getting better and ready to move on!
