I thought it was a great idea. Eggs for breakfast. I topped liquid eggs with red & yellow peppers and sprinkled feta. But as I was half-way through making them, I realized I was going to be late for work and wouldn’t have time to eat it
So I brought it with me.
I ate the toast, no sense in letting that go cold!
I was puttering along when I came up on a stop light. It turned yellow as I was coming up on it and at the last minute, I pressed down on the brakes, deciding I wasn’t going to make it through. What happened next was slow motion.
As I came to a stop, I watched in horror as my eggs slid off the dashboard and onto the center console!
But wait… the eggs didn’t splatter every where. No. They nestled themselves all up in the cup holder! Folded perfectly like they belonged!
I’m sure most of you would have discarded the eggs, chuckin’ it up to a breakfast gone. But no, not me!
I was not wastin’ feta like that!
I was NOT going to let that egg breakfast go to waste, no way! I had gotten my car washed about 10 days ago, one of those car washes where they get all up in your car and wash the nooks and crannies.
And I ain’t afraid of no germs!
The light was still red so I picked up my eggs, put them back on the plate and slide the plate on the seat next to me.
I made sure to drive extremely careful, so as not to bother my eggs further and was thankful when I made it to work. I walked in, dumped my purse, hung my jacket up and warmed my eggs back up.
I totally saved my own day!

Totally made my morning.
Me, I probably just would have put them in a container and eaten them at work instead of trying the plate on the dashboard thing. Of course, that’s probably why my last blog post was a month ago and about my dog.
lol, that is funny
Lol, You are so much better than me…. I wouldn’t have been able to eat the eggs..because there is no way I would have gone through a car wash. Bwahaha.
Hilarious!
I’m with Shannon….my car is way too dirty to pull this off.
Tip: When we run late and my son has to eat in the car, I don’t use a plate. I use a plastic container, you know, like you put leftovers in. It has sides, unlike a plate. Works beautifully.
Of course, I would like to never be running that late…but truth is, it happens at least once a week.
Have a good day!
Next time maybe you can fold the eggs into a cup and bring them that way. It seems like it worked better than the slippery dashboard.
Glad the eggs weren’t sunny-side-up, even though your post was.
Did u ever hear of the 10 second rule? I could eat my eggs out of my cup holder too. Thanks for the laugh on a friday!! Good thing it wasnt lunch like soup or Chili.. Have a great weekend and try and relax..

You might try getting one of these:
http://www.nordicware.com/store/products/detail/microwave-eggs-n-muffin-breakfast-pan/9DF1BCFA-C0F9-102B-9706-00137233C6B0
I got mine at Target for $3.99 and it makes it so easy to make your eggs at work AND you can put in whatever ingredients you like, all in the microwave in just about a minute! It’s a lifesaver for when you don’t have time to make breakfast before you leave.
hahahaha…this totally sounds like something I would do. At least they didn’t go in your coffee!! Actually I’m wondering how you made your eggs. Are you making them in a pan like an omelet?I’m also glad to hear I’m not the only one using liquid eggs instead of the real thing . I’m just too lazy to crack them open and then deal with the shells.!
Luv it! totally meets the 10 second rule! lol
LOL!! Perhaps this is a sign…next time put the eggs in a cup!
lol sounds like something that would happen to me! love the photo documentation! love your sense of humor!
Eggcellent story!
I love this post, because you made the eggs like a character in the story that we were following in all of the pictures.
At first I thought, “ewww…. I’d never eat anything out of my cupholder” and I am sooo not even a germaphobe.” Then you said you had your car cleaned. Maybe I should do that.
Did Carlos cringe at those pictures??? lol
Um … liquid eggs? What on earth are those? I’m guessing NOT fresh from happy free-range chickens.

I would have eaten it too! I”m not afraid of germs either!
