I ran 10 miles.

they said it would be worth it.”

There are not enough letters in any language to describe what it was like to run in the Twin Cities 10 Mile yesterday – the pictures I’m about to share do not due justice.

Saturday morning race packet pick up...and healthy expo.

Friends: Megan & Erin

Saturday evening pasta dinner: surrounded by support & well wishes!

Mary, who although she couldn't be there for the race, was rooting for me. Get it? The parsnip is a root vegetable = Mary is rooting for me! Seriously...HILARIOUS!

My spaghetti bowl = yum!

Everything laid out...time for bed!

RACE DAY!!!

My biggest fans: Carlos & Iggy (both of which were very sleepy!)

Pre-run fuel: A bagel-thin w/ peanut butter!

Carlos and I at the beginning of the race.

And...we are off!

My cousin, Kirsten and her daughter, Sophia, cheering me on!

At mile 5 - happy & confident. This run was for you, Mom!

AND, I FINISHED!!! Official time is 1:38:12.

Thank you Carlos & Dad, for being there at the end to greet me with your proud smiles!

Fluids...I need fluids!

And food... lemme eat!

After breakfast, Carlos and I came home — we both crashed and slept for THREE HOURS! I totally deserved it!

I really have no words for such an amazing experience. Thank you to everyone who has supported me: here on the blog, on Facebook, on Twitter and especially to Carlos, Iggy, Dad, Melinda, Heidi, Alicia for putting up with me and my training schedule. Thank you to my running friends Meghan, Alexa, Megan, Erin & Betsy.

Most importantly, thank you Mom for telling God to let the sun shine down on me: I felt you with me the entire time and know, if you could, you would have wanted to be here cheering me on at the end. My tears are for you.

Way to go Jen! I love that you accomplished this goal even though you don’t consider yourself a runner. Every day, you did what you needed to do to make this happen and you should be so proud of yourself! I’m sure your Mom watched from Heaven and was there when you crossed the finish line. I believe in such things. God bless you sweetie, you did it!
