Poof! Another weekend gone…

Hey friends, happy Monday! Why, oh why, must the weekend fly by so fast!?

My weekend was so-so. The biggest disappointment was that I had to bring my car into the mechanic. The service engine soon light has been on for a while and it’s making a weird noise… plus, I really needed 2 new tires. Yeah, the whole service engine soon light…? Yeah, that fix is looking like it’s going to be about $500. $503 to be exact. I have called 4 other places to get estimates from them also. I was quoted anywhere between $503-$625. LOVELY. Ugh. I hate cars! I didn’t get anything done over the weekend because I was still shopping around on where I was going to have this fixed. But I was “lucky” enough to drop $300 on Saturday for 2 new tires, a new air filter, and of course, to cover the charge to hook it up to the diagnostic to figure out why the service engine soon light was on. Urg. I was not too happy about that. Originally, the first place had quoted me $1,200 for EVERYTHING – but they also told me a few of the things were minor and I could wait them out for a while. But still, $503 is a bitch. (Excuse my language!)

Anyways, moving on, I don’t want to think about the car situation anymore than I have to. The rest of the weekend was pretty low key. Visited my parents, laid low. It was nice.

What I DIDN’T tell you guys was, last week on Thursday, Adam was offered a new job!!!!!!!! He will start on the 22nd – I’m so pumped and this mean, he’s moved on from the whole National Guard thing. There was a little…. situation…. between him and his recruiter which really pissed both of us off, so that kind of push him back a little bit and now with this new job – he’s really excited about the job an putting the Army on the back burner. I’m happy for him, he really wanted this job and he got it. So proud of my babe. :) Thank you guys for all of your support through that – it was a really emotional time for me not knowing what was going on. So, thanks!

Over the weekend while I was at my parent’s house, I noticed a big ‘ol box of books that my mom was getting rid of, so I started digging through it and found this…
The Best Life Diet by Bob Greene. I started reading it this morning on the bus on the way to work. I didn’t get through much, but I think it could be interested. I’m gonna give it a shot. Hey, it’s better than falling asleep/zoning out on the bus! :) I’ll keep you guys updated and let you know if it’s worth a read. ;)

Other than that, not much else new. I am meeting with Vicky tonight to have her kick my butt and, get this… I’m excited! Seriously, I think seeing the inches I’ve lost has been such motivation, I just want to work hard for another month and see results when I have my next eval. Hmm… I think I might actually be starting to like the gym… how weird! :)

I hope you guys have a fabulous Monday. ‘Til tomorrow…
