All moved in!

And another weekend comes to a close. Looking back, I can’t believe how much I have done in 2 days. Friday night I spent packing up our kitchen. Most of our stuff is going into storage. Saturday I had a super busy day planned so I needed to get as much as I could done.

Saturday
Saturday morning I woke up and went to a introduction meeting for the Junior League of St. Paul. Have you heard of the Jr. League? Per the company website

The Junior League of Saint Paul is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.  Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

I had heard about this organization before and just now got a chance to go to a meeting – I LEFT A MEMBER! The Jr. League of St. Paul basically coordinates & promotes multiple volunteer programs throughout the year all while teaching its members leadership & business skills. A member joins a volunteer committee and then works on the volunteer event to its completion.

I snacked on some fruit & 2 small cinnamon
rolls while listening to their introduction.

After the meeting, I rushed to a restaurant for my sister Heidi’s surprise baby shower luncheon. Heidi thought it was just going to be us four sisters but we invited some close family members. She was surprised!

I sat next to my beautiful cousin Kirsten
and her adorable daughter Sophia.

I had the 1/2 sandwich & soup…and went with
the Chicken Club Wrap (no cheese, no mayo)
w/ Vegetable Beef Barley Soup.

It came with fries. OOOHHH, they were good!

Since I ate the fries, I asked for a
to-go container for the soup.

We finished lunch around 3pm – I rushed home to help Carlos move boxes. We ended up moving until 7pm. I was so tired and hungry. We found dinner at a super yum restaurant but I was so memorized by the food I didn’t take pictures. As we were driving home, I fell asleep! Guess I was done for the night.

SUNDAY
Sunday morning, we woke up and made breakfast. I made scrambled eggs, linguica & toast.

My plate.

For my toast, I used Better ‘n Peanut Butter.

Have you tried Better ‘n Peanut Butter before? It’s about 100 calories per 2 tablespoons vs 190+ calories for regular peanut butter. It’s good – although definitely not real peanut butter.

We spent most of the mid-morning unpacking & trying to organize our new layout. Iggy & Colton had a blast hanging out together!

A 5K
By 3pm on Sunday, I still hadn’t worked out. In fact, it had now been over a week since I saw the inside of the gym. And to be honest, I could tell mentally. I wasn’t really cranky but definetly not pleasant. While it could have been stress from a busy weekend, I think my mind longed for the clarity from a good workout. And although we had still so much unpacking and organizing to do, I finally dropped everything and just went to the gym.

I jumped on the treadmill and told myself I was gonna run a 5k. I told myself I was going to but I didn’t really think I could do it. Until I got to about 20 minutes and realized I just had to run another 12-13 more minutes and was there.

AND I DID IT!

4+ months since I’ve ran a 5K.
9 days since I’ve been in a gym.

AND I DID IT!

You know, the most amazing feeling in the world is pushing yourself beyond what you think you can do. There is nothing like it.

The best part? I was on a happy high for the rest of the evening! I came home and was so motivated to clean, cook, organize and even write about my horrible apostraphe use.  I can’t wait to go back to the gym tonight!

How was your weekend?
