Beck Diet: Experiment 3
I won’t ever say that I failed at something – I just figured out a way it didn’t work.
You see, the experiment last night was to eat a sensible dinner – and even if I was still hungry, I was suppose to set an alarm for 20 minutes and allow for the food to settle and for the food to hit the tummy and realize it wasn’t actually hungry. Make sense?
Per the book…

It may take as long as 20 minutes to feel full after eating-which is why it’s important to prove to yourself that fullness always sets in, even if it takes a few minutes.

Once you know this, when you finish a meal, you will be able to say to yourself, “I’m still a little hungry, but I don’t need to eat…I’ll feel full pretty soon, and I’d rather be thinner than keep eating.”

As I was making dinner,
I found myself picking at everything.
Tasting everything.
Sampling everything.
I then had a dinner salad w/ a small amount
of light ranch salad dressing.
Dinner was finally ready. I scooped
myself a big ‘ol portion and devoured it!
It doesn’t look pretty but it
sure was yummy lasagna!
By the time I was done with
dinner, I was so full, there was no way
I wouldbe hungry before the 20 minutes
which defeats the purpose!

Kind of off topic, but if you were following me on twitter, you’d see more of what I ate. I love taking twitterpics! Here are some of my recent eats.
Tuna & corn + English muffin.
Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Rice Noodle

Morningstar Chick’n Patty on toast with low-fat
cheese + apple & peanut butter.
Tuna & corn, wheat
thins & clementines.

Oatmeal & fresh berries!

Oatmeal, Cashews with
Pomegranate + Vanilla
The other day, I was sent some samples of Sahale Snacks. Have you seen these at your local Starbucks? I got two samples…
Cashews with
Pomegranate + Vanilla
Per the companies website: Shape magazine awarded the Cashews with Pomegranate + Vanilla Glazed Nuts with one of its annual “Best Snack” honors.
My verdict: They were good – in the oatmeal! Wasn’t a huge fan of them alone but they went perfectly in the oatmeal!
Almonds with Apple, Flax Seeds,
Date, Balsamic Vinegar + Red Pepper
Per the company website: In 2009, Real Simple magazine and Men’s Health magazine recognized the Soledad Almond Nut Blend as a top choice for discriminating snackers.
My verdict: yuck…even the smell was horrible. I am not sure if it’s the pepper flakes or the pepper flakes with the apples & dates but this was not very appealing. My taste-buds must are way different than Real Simple or Men’s Health readers I guess!
Anyways…back to Beck! I guess I need to try this experiment again because it didn’t really work tonight – I got distracted by food! Ah, such is life!

I have a special announcement this
afternoon AND a giveaway tomorrow
so come back okay?
