New Years Eve Foodie Post

Holy New Years Eve Pictures my friends! Are you ready for some serious food pictures? Please, grab a napkin & get ready to drool on your keyboard. We met some friends for dinner at a new Brazilian restaurant called Samba. It was amazing…AMAZING! I’m talking incredible, wonderful and delicious.
I started my New Years Evening out
with a glass of wine
Appetizers were…
Calebrasa & onions.
(Brazilian sausage)
Bolinho de Bacalhao
(fried cod fish & potato’s
rolled & fried)
Cheesy ball/bread.
For dinner, I ordered the Carne Seca
It was AMAZING! OMG, it seriously was so good, so filling,
I can’t even think of the words to use to describe it.

Manioc, if you don’t know is a root vegetable which was
pureed and if I didn’t know any better, I would have
thought it was mashed potato’s. So underneath the
layer of cheese in the above picture, there
was shredded beef and pureed manioc all mixed together.

For dessert, we got
fried banana’s
and a Romeo & Juliet Pastel
(Fried pastels w/ guava paste & cheese)

After dinner, we went over to some other friends, Deanna
& Mike’s house house for games & what else, more food.
Carmel puff corn & peanuts
Bacon wrapped shrimp & chicken.
Borbon cheese & toasted bread.
Pickles wrapped in cream cheese & ham.
Mini pepperoni pizza’s & mini pear, toasted
nuts & gorgonzola cheese pizza’s.

Chocolate covered peanut & marshmallows.

Sausage & cheese stuffed mushrooms.

I can’t lie friends, I ate everything at Mike & Deanna’s
house. Seriously, I ate so so much.
Lots of Catch Phrase: Guys vs. Girls.
Bubbly for the countdown!
And, a happy couple celebrating another
New Years together!
Love you Carlos!
When I woke up Friday morning, I had a total belly ache from all the food. No alcohol hangover but a serious food hangover. I ended up trying to sleep it off – it didn’t work so by 5pm, I dragged myself off the couch, thew on some workout clothes and trudged to the gym to do 45 minutes cardio.
Today (Saturday), I woke up and did about 25 minutes on the elliptical and then a 30 minute weight session with Kevin, the trainer. Tomorrow? Well I’m meeting my cuz, Kirsten at the Mall of America – we are gonna put on our tennis shoes & join the mall walkers at 8:30am! Get a couple of laps in and maybe do a little window shopping.
Tonight, I’m gonna hit publish on this post, turn on the Office – Season One and curl up next to this cute guy next to me!
