The Day My Life Changed...

I started on my journey in August of 2007. For two years I fought, kicked and cried my way through losing 90+lbs. I was well on my way to hitting an official 100lbs lost by August 1st, 2009 which was my 2 year anniversary. I was planning a big 'ol celebration around here... until my life changed the evening before my final weigh-in. (Click here for more info).

Join me now, as I reevaluate my priorities, struggle to find out what "healthy" is while dealing with an emotional trauma, and continue to learn how to live a healthy life, no sugar coating included.

Happy New Years

We all made it to 2010!
Happy New Years everyone!

While I have never made it a habit to make New Years Resolutions, I do plan on continuing to push through on my healthiness journey and fighting just as hard as I have for everything I know I can do. Do you make resolutions? If so, what are they?

I have a ton of great pictures from last night's dinner & games, just need to upload them so hold tight. In the mean time, I have some super amazing awesome exciting news for you!

Over the past couple of months, I have connected with a friend who I've mentioned a couple of times, Lindsay: Under Construction. Recently, I proposed to Lindsay to come and share her journey with you on a more regular basis. To that end, I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of the PriorFatGirl Family...

Lindsay, another
priorfatgirl!

That's right, Lindsay now has her own blog here at PriorFatGirl! She is joining Amanda, another priorfatgirl and me in documenting our healthiness journey...struggles, success and everything in between! (Plus, we've pulled in all the posts from Lindsay, another priorfatgirl's previous blog so if you wanna read up a little more on her journey, settle in cuz they are all there!)

To kick things off, Lindsay, another priorfatgirl is going to work through a 42 day program geared towards truly helping her change her habits & live a healthier life. Click click click on over to her site and check her out!

PriorFatGirl Workout Guide
I'm so glad so many of you are excited about the PriorFatGirl Workout Guide! I've decided to donate 50% of the proceeds to the YMCA Activate America program which I'm confident most of you agree is super generous. How many other people donates 50% of their proceeds to charity? Just a point of clarification though: while I would love to claim the remaining 50% of the proceeds as compensation for the 25-30 hours a week I devote to this blog, the money will actually be used for server/website hosting & lawyer fee's which are currently coming out of my own pocket.

I am so excited for everyone who has stopped by
and continues to stop by and visit me on my
journey. Never in a million years did I expect my
story to reach so many - I am so humbled at
the fact that all of you keep coming back
and appreciate with all my heart the
support & encouragement you continue
to share with me.

As always - comments are open, even for those who want to share their thoughts anonymously so far. I appreciate the fact that you all continue to be respectful in the comments area. You guys are the best!

And, like that, I'm out and running. Going to take down the Christmas tree and spend some quality time with the two men in my life, Carlos and Iggy!

I SAY LOUD AND CLEAR HERE THAT I'M GOING TO JOIN AND STAND W/ YOU ON NOT EATING OUT THIS MONTH! So we can figure out how to hold each other accountable on this ok?! Happy New Year, Jen! And Welcome to Lindsay!!!

I'm taking down my Christmas decorations today. And wondering WHY OH WHY did I decorate every room in the house this year?!? What seemed like a good idea in November...not so much in January.

Enjoy your day, Jen!

I don't really make resolutions, but I do set yearly and monthly goals. They help keep me focused (if I remember to look at them, haha).

Jen, I have also enjoyed reading your blog over the last couple of weeks. I am new to the blogging community and have really been inspired by your story.
I don't like resolutions because I always feel bad if I fall short... however I have goals for the year. I really want to be happy with each moment and not pine for what I feel that I am missing.
Happy New Year!
