PriorFatGirl E-Cookbook – 1st Donation!

Back on September 15th, I randomly threw out the idea of putting together a cookbook. I never underestimate any of your capabilities but sometimes underestimate the value of my own idea’s (it is still so surreal that so many of you read my blog).

As I began to collect recipes, I realized how many people were so excited to share their healthy recipes that they’ve put together as well as how many others were anxious to get their hands on a the collection of recipes.

The first ever PriorFatGirl E-Cookbook took a lot of time & help from others to put together. We worked out a lot of kinks and for a first edition, it totally rocked!

HOLY CANNOLI, I totally never expected to see that much money when I logged into the paypal account – ya’ll have blown me away! I am so proud to say that together, WE DID THIS!

I’m so passionate about the YMCA Activate American program because I was raised in a house where we didn’t watch a lot of TV. And we sat at the dinner table and ate a well balanced meal most nights of the week. And yet as a teenager and young adult, I STILL struggled with my weight and eating. I see so many children now who aren’t even given a proper understanding as they are growing up of what “healthy” means.

Per the YMCA Activate America website:

  • Over 900 YMCAs joined September’s America On the Move Week at the YMCA. During this week, YMCAs host events and activities to motivate people to take small steps to get active and increase the number of daily steps they take.
  • Annually each spring, more than 1,400 YMCAs host a YMCA Healthy Kids® Day. This is an interactive special event that, through fun, engaging and creative activities, encourages children and families to adopt behaviors that support a healthy lifestyle.

Unfortunately, the donation of $750 is not enough when compared to the amount of money needed to reengage our society and encourage regular activity. Please consider making a separate donation to the YMCA Activate America program or find other organizations locally that encourage a healthier community!
