The Day My Life Changed...

I started on my journey in August of 2007. For two years I fought, kicked and cried my way through losing 90+lbs. I was well on my way to hitting an official 100lbs lost by August 1st, 2009 which was my 2 year anniversary. I was planning a big 'ol celebration around here... until my life changed the evening before my final weigh-in. (Click here for more info).

Join me now, as I reevaluate my priorities, struggle to find out what "healthy" is while dealing with an emotional trauma, and continue to learn how to live a healthy life, no sugar coating included.

Back from the holiday weekend

Well well, look at that - everyone came back. That means we made it through the holiday season and are all ready for New Years, right?

Quick recap...

Christmas morning breakfast

Items under the Christmas tree with my name included:

Franks Red Hot Sauce (size JUMBO)

A crockpot

Craisins, Special K Bars & Fiber One Bars

Carlos gave me tickets to see Norah
Jones in March - wahoo, I can't wait!

Iggy totally took home the most gifts.

Carlos and I got him a new sweater

Later that day, we went over to our
friends house, Lynn (Hi Lynn!)

My plate, full of crackers, meat & cheese,
deviled eggs, meatballs, bread & cheese dip

I didn't eat all the meatballs or cheese dip.

I did though win the jackpot!

Then I snacked some more

Overall, Christmas day went well. It was a sad day but not too overwhelming. Oddly enough, the entire week leading up to Christmas was harder then the actual day itself. Sometimes the anticipation is worse then the event itself, huh?

I got some serious reading in from the Beck Diet and whoa - lemme just say, this is going to be some serious (yet very much needed) work! It's totally a psychological approcach to eating. LOVE IT!

Workout Update
eh - well, I didn't work out as many days as I'd like but it wasn't a total waste. Three days last week for gym activity. It all counts, right?!

I started this week off good by waking up bright and early yesterday morning and getting in a good 45 minutes of cardio + some ab stuff. This morning, I woke up and did a yoga DVD I rented from the library. Tonight, I have a training session with my trainer.

Peanut Butter
Alright - if you noticed, I had peanut butter on Christmas morning. And YES CUZ, Kirsten, I'm talking the REAL stuff! I'll tell you about it tomorrow okay?

This week is another short-ish kind of week.
Working 10-3pm and am loving it!
How was your weekend?

Love Iggy's stash!

Looking forward to the Beck book, too. I've been delving into the psychological side of weight issues lately, so I think that book would be a good addition to my reading list!

Thanks for mentioning the Beck book! I was at the website and it definitely looks like some great reading. I hope my local Barnes and Noble has it as I'd love to start reading it soon!

Iggy looks adorable in that sweater - does he really keep it on? None of my dogs would wear their sweaters for very long, no matter how cute I kept telling them they looked!

Glad Christmas day wasn't that bad for you - and yay to Norah Jones - love her!!!

The Glenn Beck diet book? I'm not so sure about that...

Sounds like you had a great Christmas. I couldn't be happier for you.

You christmas sounds great. I give my mom peanut butter everyday. Not the real stuff. The cheap stuff. But she has to have protein so she won't get pressure sores. So I love peanut butter. With no teeth steak is out of the question.:)

Glad you made it through Christmas. We had a nice Holiday here. I will admit that I ate more than I should have. I did run both Saturday and Sunday. Back on track now that the festivities are over.

You're gonna LOVE your new crockpot, Jen! Can't wait to hear about your crockpot experiments. :)

Iggy is sooooooooo flippin' cute!!! My dogs freak out when I put a T-shirt on them. They'd much rather have blankets on them to keep warm.

I just wanted to say that you are doing great. You are doing the best you can. Don't judge yourself by what you eat. Judge yourself by how you feel! Your body can take some treats. Be kind to yourself always always always in what you tell yourself. If you find that your eating is changing good or bad ... look at WHY? I recently had big wake up around eating. TTYL. Miss ya over the wall too!

I love that you got hot sauce for Christmas. Awesome. :)

And Iggy looks so cute in his sweater! My husband REFUSES to let me buy one for our dog, but she would look so cute. She'd probably hate it, though.

Franks is the best hot sauce around!

Merry Christmas! We made it through our holiday, too. The only time I really got weepy was at church service. I was sitting by my dad and he said later that he was fine until we sang Silent Night by candlelight. That one got me, too. My mom always loved having all of us in church with her.

The couple of weeks before, I was PMSing and REALLY cried a lot, but by the time Christmas came, I was OK. I was thinking of you often, too. Sending hugs.
