The Old Switcheroo!

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday (again, I almost typed Thursday, what’s with me this week!?)

Apparently, I’m having trouble keeping my days straight this week – I guess that’s what happens to you when you take a week off of work, the days just kind of blend. Kind of like they used to when you were in school and on summer vacation… remember that!? “Hmm… what day is it..? It doesn’t matter! I’m on summer vacation!” Man, those were the good ol’ days. :)

The Old [gym] Switcheroo
So, I had mentioned to you guys that Adam and I were going to look into going to a different gym since the gym we used to go to is now about 25 minutes from our house. I really loved the gym we were at, but I KNOW I would never go, being that far away. It’s hard enough to drag myself to the gym when it’s 10 minutes away, let alone 25 minutes. I know myself, I know it would be nearly impossible to pry myself from the couch after an hour drive home from work for a 25 minute drive to the gym, which I don’t love all that much anyways. :) Let’s be honest here – I’m not in love with the gym. No surprise there!

So, last night we headed out to check out a gym closer to our house. I was skeptical. Not gonna lie. I heard good things from Jen about the gym, but I’ve also heard not-so-good things from other friends who have worked out there. First impression as we walk in the door…? WOW! This place is huge and beautiful. Then… Where’s Jen!? Haha

So, they scooped us right up and started giving us the scoop about the facility and what they offer and that whole schpeel. MAN, they are good at their jobs! I told Adam going into the place, “okay, we’re going to play hard ball, don’t cave, they sell their facility to people for a living, BE STRONG!” Uh, yeah – not so much. I caved right away and started gushing about how I liked the place. Way to be strong Linds. I better never play poker, no poker face for this girl.

We took the tour and what not. Stopped by to say Hi to Jen as she was runnin’ her little Prior Fat Girl butt off on the treadmill (sorry Jen, I felt bad for having him stop you!) and then we went back downstairs to talk numbers. Be strong Lindsay, BE STRONG! That’s what I kept telling myself.

Well, needless to say, WE JOINED. We did the ol’ Switcheroo from the old gym to the new gym. I’m VERY pleased… ESPECIALLY since we are going to be saving about $30 a month by switching! Can you believe that!? And that is BEFORE we are eligible for an additional $20 reimbursement a month from our insurance. So, in the long run, if we attend at least 8 times a month (which WE WILL) we will end up paying FIFTY DOLLARS less a month than what we were paying at our old gym. I could not believe the difference in price. Especially since this new place is way bigger with much more equipment and much nicer and newer. I was shocked. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the gym we were at – but I need to keep my pennies where they belong, IN MY POCKET!

So, that’s the exciting news on my end right now. I’m really looking forward to working out at the new place. Tonight, Adam and I have our orientation with the trainer. This should be interesting. I hope they don’t have to weigh me and such in front of him… embarrassment!

I’ll let you know tomorrow how it goes. I hope you all have a fabulous night!

xoxo
Lindsay
