McDonald's Update
Remember Friday's post (here) about how much I was dreaming & drooling & obsessing about McDonald's? And remember how even though I KNEW I was making it sound better then it would actually taste, that I still wanted it?
Well, I would love to give you an update on this but frankly, there is none. Yep, you read that right. I didn't get any closer to eating the McDonald's. So maybe that's the update in itself, that I am stronger then my cravings. My cravings do not control me.
Tell me this: what is your "craving," what do you NOT let control you?
Proof is in the Pictures
Motivation is everywhere. All over the internet. So many people are pushing through whatever excuse comes up to just do it. Get it over with. Not take no for an answer. No one ever went from unhealthy to healthy overnight. It takes one day at a time, one step at at time. Here are my friends who are taking it one step at at time, here are my friends in all their sweaty glory.

Onion rings...homeade...not the frozen kind from a place in Richmond called, O'Tooles! with a Blue Moon. That is what I crave!
Good for you! No news is good news. :)
Resisting is tough for me & I've fallen for the "just a taste" bit too many times.
Have a great week,
Lynn
I signed up via the email you posted the 1st day...but have never heard anything about getting a partner...I sent a second email this morning, but it sounds like it may be too late now. not sure what happend?

oh and Jack he looks stinky :0)
Good job on the mcdonalds, you are so strong jen!
Thanks for the match up!
I know what you mean about McDonalds. It's not my worst craving (that'd be pizza) but this weekend I attended a birthday party at one and it smelled so good that I finally gave in and had a snack wrap (least damaging thing I could find that would fill me up) and it was terrible. I was so disappointed! :-)
I suck completely when it comes to craving control. If i crave it long enough I just get it over with and eat whatever is on my craving list. :( Sucks!!! I have will power most of the time but when a craving really hits me, well I lose all control. I don't go overboard though.
Good for you for fighting the urge to give in!! I admire you so much!
And I am sooo very excited about the motivational matchup!! Thank you for doing this and pairing us all up. :)
Glad to hear you didn't give in. I rarely have cravings and they are never for gross fast foods, which is great. But I do have cravings. Sometimes I resist by just doing something else! Keeping yourself busy is the best way. Sometimes I give in, but as I said, my cravings aren't usually horrible, more like a roll of whole wheat bread with cheese or something like that. I just try to balance it all out.
Have a great monday!
Oh gosh, Chipotle is my weakness, and I am DETERMINED not to have any until my brother gets here. Even then, I'll keep it under control with a half portion and save the rest for another day! :)
Have a great week!
Ice cream, ice cream, ice cream...I always want it and will always want it....but I overcome my cravings 90% of the time...I love that creamy little bowl of goodness..but I love my pursuit of health more...sweet, neglected ice cream ; )
Hey everyone! New on the site and just reading about Motivational Match-ups...Am I too late to get in on this?
man Jack sweats a lot! lol :)
Always, always, always, crave Ben and Jerry's. It really doesn't matter what flavor, but I particularly like S'mores, Half Baked, Mint Chocolate Cookie, Cinammon Buns and Chocolate Fudge Brownie...oh great...now I am hungry!!
Trying to keep it out of my mind, I am going to go have an apple.
Girl - I'm SOOO proud of you resisting the desire...YOU ARE A STRONG, BEAUTIFUL, DETERMINED WOMAN and that's a great example. I crave Culver's French Fries and any kind of good chocolate...
PS: Read my dad's blog from Sunday...We need to do the following 3 things in our thinking in regards to us and our healthy bodies...
1. RECOGNIZE wrong thinking. (ie: McDonalds will make you feel better)
2. REJECT wrong thinking (ie: Don't eat what you know won't make you feel better)
3. REPLACE wrong thinking with right thinking (ie: I know eating "xyz" will be better for me so that's what I will feed my body)
Love ya Cuz...I'll do the 3 R's each day...printing it up and taping to my fridge...
I don't sweat a lot; I just have a drinking problem. ;)
i am sad i missed the bandwagon for the partners.
i give you soooo much credit for staying away from your temptation! mcdonalds nuggets and egg mcmuffins make me a happy girl. you're wayyyyy stronger than you're cravings!
Hooray for not caving into the cravings!
I thought I was doing really bad because I had a lot of tastes and licks while cooking yesterday - when I put it into sparkpeople, it ended up only adding 200 calories to my day!
Happy Monday - here's to a great week!
Hurray for not letting cravings control you!
ps - Jack really does have a drinking problem. It's so sad.
Good Jen, keep on track...My craving is a good liquid diet. Pairing helps as we Journey together.
ahhh, McDonald's. I haven't eaten it in a long time, and I know it's gross, but sometimes I really want a freaking quarter pounder and fries!
Lately I've been craving pizza. Delicious, gooey, cheesy pizza. Really, I have been obsessing about it for weeks. So on Saturday night we had an Amy's organic pizza and I had 2 pieces. Was it worth the calories? hell yes! What is my point? If you can find a healthier option to satisfy your craving, indulge, with a small portion. If there is no healthy option, don't even do it. Just say no.
Also, I believe there is ice cream in heaven and I will get to eat it all the live long day.
see! you're stronger than even YOU thought you were :) I'm proud of you for proving that to yourself!
Go Jen! Stay strong! I have been wanting McDonald's fries for WEEKS but have not caved yet.
the hard thing for me to resist is anything I am baking at home...I can honestly fight the craving to actually go buy something...but if I am making some type of baked good at home for my hubs or a friend, forget it...I cannot keep my fingers out of the cookie dough or batter!
Good for you for resisting that McDonalds...it NEVER tastes as good as you imagine.
Excited about the motivational match up today! Thanks!
Last night I was planning the menu for my Christmas party with one of my girlfriends. We were talking about eggplant rollatini, baked clams, spanakoita and other amazingly tasty treats.
My brain started telling me that I was hungry, but I had already eaten enough for the day. So I wrote a note to myself that said "I can eat again tomorrow" which helped ease my craving for a variety of foods that I so. would. not. have eaten last night. It worked..:)
Also, McDonalds = gross. But I understand that it's easy to make things seem better in our minds than they are. It's so incredible that you controlled the urge and didn't let it control you. Way. To. Go.
