A day in my life at home…

by Jen, a priorfatgirl on November 24, 2009

Howdy friends! How about that, I came back for a mid-day post! It’s about 1:30pm and hazy outside. But, I did what I intended to do today and went for my run!

I put on my luluemon headband (thanks Dori, I love it!) and my new SmartWool Gloves (I bought from REI). It was about 45 degree’s out but very hazy, gray & lightly misting.

Dressed & ready to run!

Oh man, I really had to push myself this time.
I wanted to stop so many times! By the time
I made it home, I was a sweaty, red faced mess!

Post run, I had a banana with some
Naturally
Nutty Pepita’s Sun Butter. Sadly,
I scraped the last of the jar today -boo hoo hoo!

By 10:00am I was showered & dressed so I ran a couple of errands. Got some ingredients for some Portuguese rolls I am making (will share recipe if it turns out). We eat them ALL THE TIME when we are out East, back in New Bedford, Mass and love them but cannot find them anywhere here in Minneapolis. While I was out, I picked up some of this:

LightLife Smart Deli – Baked Ham Style.
I got a coupon in the mail a month and a half ago and have stopped at 4 different grocery stores trying to find them. I finally went onto the LightLife website to find out where to get it…its sold here in Minneapolis at Bylery’s which is a little bit more expensive (and why I don’t shop there!)

Per the website:

FAT FREE luncheon meat alternative. The great taste and texture of BAKED HAM, without the fat, cholesterol, nitrites, MSG and who knows what else of standard luncheon meats.

Now…If your like me, you would have taken the “meat alternative” outta the box, studied it, wrinkled your nose and took a deep breath. It almost looked like old baloney – it had a horrible gross brown color.

But…I was starving so I served me up a serving!
One serving of this is 4 slices and 70 calories.
The slices
were pretty thick so I only used 2 slices.
I also made some soup.

Lunch is served!

Smart Deli Verdict: While the color was a visual turn-off for me, I have to admit, this stuff is good! I couldn’t tell a difference at all on my sandwich! (I’m sure if I would have eaten a slice just plain, I might have been able to tell a difference). For such a low-cal option, I’m impressed! It’s much more expensive than regular deli-meat and because of the cost factor, I probably wont’ buy it again.

While I was eating lunch, Iggy got mad at the rug.
Check this video out – HILARIOUS!

And now, its time for me to clean a little. Or maybe I’ll put up some Christmas decorations. Or maybe I’ll take a nap. Ahhh…the life of a vacationer!

Tonight, I’m going to meet Lindsay from Lindsay: Under Construction at the gym to do some weights.

I probably won’t be back till tomorrow so see ya’ll then!
