Just a little reminder to all my readers to stop right now and send an email, text message, make a phone call or turn around and tell someone how much they mean to you.

Because you know that saying “You never know what’ll happen tomorrow?” Well, its true. I never once actually thought it could happen to me – never did I think someone I loved would actually truly be taken away before I could say goodbye. For Pete’s sake, that stuff happens in movies, not in my life.

But I want to remind you right now that life does what it wants. Take the time now to tell everyone in your life how much they mean to you. Because you never know what’ll happen tomorrow. And on that note, I want to give a shout-out to a few people in my life:

  • Dave, Mike & Dean: Although we all live so far apart, you all mean so much in my life. Thank you for being my uncles – thank you for making a difference in my life. Thank you for reading my moms emails and for responding to them. She loved emailing you all so much! I love you.
  • Dad: Thank you for talking when I had no word. Thank you for knowing what I cannot describe. Thank you for being strong and not giving up on me. I love you more than I can explain.
  • Heidi, Alicia and Melinda: Thank you for sharing mom with me. I see mom in each of you and am so glad she was able to teach us the importance of sticking together, the four of us. Thank you for going through this with me. I love you.
  • Mike, Dan & Nate: Thank you for taking care of my sisters, especially over the past couple of months. Thank you for giving them the extra hugs they needed, thank you for wiping their tears and most of all, thank you for loving them.
  • Carlos: Thank you for taking the brunt of my heartache – for helping me pick up the pieces and figuring out how to put everything back together again. I’ve got a long ways to go but cannot imagine doing this without you. Thank you for loving me at my worst.
  • Dori, Amanda, Nicole, Michelle, Kirsten, Deanna, Stacie, Syl, Carla, Annabel, Jenny and all my friends: Thank you for continuing to send me smiles, for continuing to check in on me and for keeping me busy. Now more than ever I have realized how much you all mean to me.
  • To all my blogging readers, commenters & those who read from a distance: Thank you for being there. Thank you for your continued prayers, motivation, encouragement and support. Each of who who come here make a difference in my life. I can never repay the blogging world for what you have done for me. I hope to pay it forward.

That’s it, that’s all I wanted to say – back to your regularly scheduled program!

Hi guys! It’s MY Friday! (I took tomorrow and all of next week off to move) Woo hoo! (Can you tell, I’m in a much better mood today than yesterday!) :)

So, I’ve decided to just get over yesterday’s fiasco. I mean, it sucks, really, REALLY bad. I should be a home owner today. But I’m not. I will be tomorrow. I BETTER be tomorrow or someone better run and hide because if I find them – it’s on! :)

No use in being angry about it anymore. It’s not going to change the fact that it happened. And I’ve definitely learned that attitude is everything.
Yesterday, at closing, I asked my mom how she felt about the selling bank not having their crap together and ready to close… here’s what I got:

Haha! My mom is so funny. She was not happy about the situation either. Of course, after her lovely face, I had to show the camera… and you guys… how I felt too! “Lindsay – how do you feel about closing being compromised because the bank is run by a bunch of morons who have had a LONG time to get their stuff together, but haven’t…?”

Ha! I feel MAD! Hahahaha I look pretty…. special in that one there! I’m extra angry, apparently.

At the time we took these pictures, of course, we were still just kind of joking around because we **THOUGHT** they would pull their heads out of their…. butts and things would end up being fine. Not so much. I should have taken a picture of my REAL mad face… or maybe the crying face when I was driving home… I was pretty bummed out.

From the comments on my post yesterday and after talking to a few of my “recent home owner friends”, it sounds like many of you have faced similar dramatic situations on closing day. Hmmm… I never really knew it was all that common. I wish my realtor or SOMEONE would have told me that things aren’t always as easy as they seem. Oh well though, in the end, the house will still be mine. The question remains: WHEN!?

I also wanted to get back to you, Nic… you had said:

Why would you need to reschedule an 11am interview for a 12:30pm closing? Even on my BEST job interview it was 60 minutes, you will be totally fine! Don’t cancel that interview!

The reason I wanted to and DID reschedule my interview is for a couple of reasons:
1) My interview is in downtown Minneapolis, my closing is not.
2) I have to pick my mom up before closing (which would have been after my interview) and we live about 20 minutes north west of Minneapolis and closing is about 20 minutes in the opposite direction, not enough time.
3) Closing would be taking place RIGHT after my interview, I didn’t want to be distracted during my interview worrying about how things are coming along with closing – as well as I want to be accessible by phone if something DOES come up
4) My friend, who referred me for this position, said her interview was scheduled for 1 hour (like mine is) and she was there for about 2 hours – I don’t want to risk it.

So, there is my reasoning – not so much to “prove to you” why I had to reschedule, more so to justify it to myself, because TRUST ME… I did NOT want to have to reschedule. I don’t think it’s very professional to do, even though it was a few days in advance, but in this situation, it was out of my control. Friday at 12:30pm was the ONLY time slot they could reschedule me to close before the end of the month… not much room to be flexible. So there ya have it. :)

Food today, I have been pretty good. I’m sitting at about 558 calories for the day so far. (I know, I know – that’s not enough being that it’s almost 3pm!) I just haven’t been that hungry today. (Maybe that whole “I don’t eat when stressed” thing is kickin’ in! Sweet!) Confession: I ate a donut today. Arg! It’s stupid “donut Thursday” in the TV Sales area again. They’re killin’ me! I did count every last calorie of that donut though and I stuck to a monster salad for lunch as to keep my calories in check

That puppy has mixed greens, cucumbers, broccoli, green peppers, a few slices of hard boiled egg, a little bit of cheese, some croutons and light Italian dressing… and let me tell you – it was DELISH! I had fully intended on eating it as an “appetizer” to my SmartOne (thanks to your suggestions :) – but that monster filled me right up. I did have a banana about an hour after I ate that and right now, I’m feeling good. Not hungry – so that’s nice. I have some pretzels and an apple to munch on if I start feeling “famished” (or “convince” myself that I am “famished” is more like it!)

Today has been a good day for me. I’m happier today than yesterday. Yesterday just made me sad… I was SO looking forward to getting things started on my house, you guys know that. Here’s to hoping all goes well and as planned tomorrow. Closing is scheduled for 12:30pm. Cross your fingers and think good thoughts for me.

Have a super day – hopefully next time I check in with you guys, I’ll FINALLY be a home owner.

Love you all!
xoxo
Lindsay

Kay’s Natural’s
Let’s talk about something delish! If you followed me on Twitter, you’d know by now that love me some Kay’s Natural food! You don’t follow me on Twitter? Click here to find out what your missing!

Anyways, back to Kay’s Natural. About a month ago, I received a box in the mail and gotta admit, I was skeptical. From the site:

We are dedicated to bringing to you, our customer, better alternatives to gluten free snacks and cereals. Made with a better balance of soy protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and good fats, our products are delicious and uniquely satisfying snacks and cereals that can actually help curb the appetite, whether at home, at work, or at play.

Here’s where they got me… low cal AND good for me! I was game!

I first tried the cereal.
100 Calorie & 9g protein!

Thoughts: It was so good! And the best part, it really did keep me going! I normally have oatmeal for breakfast but the cereal was a pretty good trade off. Plus, I have to admit, it was kinda fun eating cereal at my desk while everyone else was eating oatmeal!

I also tried the pretzels.
110 Calories & 10g Protien.

Verdict: Again, delish! These had a slight butter flavor to it – who doesn’t pretzels with an egg white, light laughing cow & salsa wrap. Perfect lunch!
