Little Bit O’ News
I need to update ya’ll one something going on in my personal life. You see, this upcoming Saturday is the first of the two runs I dedicated myself to running back at the beginning of September. I had declared that signing myself up for two runs would give me the motivation I needed to get myself back in the gym.
And I did.
For 3.5 weeks. Barely, but I did. I trained and followed 3.5 weeks of a 5K/5mile running program that my friend KK over at Running Through Life created for me.
And then, last week happened and lets just say it added even more stress to an already stressful situation. It drained what little emotional & physical energy I had left outta me. It took all I had left just to make it through the day and be an active participant in my own daily routine. Sadly, I had nothing left to give to an active lifestyle.
Stress took over. And because of it, I haven’t been to they gym in 7 days.Therefore, I’m throwing in the towel on my two runs. I am confident that I could potentially make it this weekend on the 5K but I haven’t had enough activity this week to ensure I wouldn’t just push myself to say I did it and end up hurting myself. Same for the 5 miles next week – I am not going to push myself.
BUT…
I’m not giving up on my activity level. This past week, if you’ve noticed a trend on my posts, its been me and my positive self-talk. No Negative Nelly here, I need to keep myself going. I’m not giving up.
While this past week has thrown a kink in my plan, I’ve re-examined my plans, called Dan, my brother-in-law (who was going to do the 5 miles with me). Dan is a runner…like a “lemme run 5 or 6 or 8 miles just cuz” runner. We discussed our options and decided that it will be best to find a Thanksgiving run to do – that way, I’m not just giving up on this whole running idea.
So here’s the deal – there are a couple of races I’ve found that seem interesting. I will email them to Dan and see if any of them seem interesting to him and then we’ll sign up. Both of them are Thanksgiving morning before we eat some serious turkey!

Option #2: Thanksgiving Day – Giving Thanks 5K
I know I can get my healthy
lifestyle back under control!
