Yogi. Yoga. Yoda.

Happy Monday lovlies! How was your weekend? Mine was good, we had a great time with Chris & Lisa and can’t wait until they come back already! I love sharing pictures so hold on tight, I got a lot to share with ya!

Friday’s Double Date
Chris & Lisa came in Friday afternoon. We hung out at my parents house for a couple hours talking & catching up then decided it was time for din din.

We headed to Red Dragon in Uptown. If you haven’t been here before, it’s kind of a dive restaurant but has the most unbelievable drink menu and delish food. Not healthy but so good!

I ordered the chicken lo mein and ate 1/4 of it

I also ordered the Almond Ding Punchum…ok, I had two and a half.

Saturday S’Mores
We got up on Saturday and made breakfast. Mid-morning, my friend Stacie dropped off a gift from her and another friend, Deanna.

A beautiful hibiscus tree!!
I really do love it, it is amazing and will be something I can look at and be continually reminded of my mom.

After breakfast and googling over my new hibiscus tree, we headed up to my parents lake. It was a little chilly out so my aunt, uncle & dad had a fire going already.
It was nice & warm!
The men played poker.
The ladies cozied up by the fire & played Catch Phrase. I love that game!
Once it got dark and the once the fire calmed down, I found
some marshmallows randomly on a stick and decided to roast them.
My marshmallow fell between a graham
cracker and a hershey’s chocolate!

Sunday & Yoda
Sunday we had originally planned on going to the Great Minnesota Get Together, the Minnesota St. Fair but once we all got up and moving, we decided going out for breakfast was a much better idea! We ended up at Fat Nats Eggs where we ate a delish breakfast & multiple cups of coffee.

Considering our options for the early afternoon, we decided to take a little walk through the Animal Humane Society. Carlos and I have been talking about adding to our family (uh, family of 2 anyways). I found an adorable domestic short hair kitten named Yoda who was a ball of energy and only 8 weeks old. And trust me, ADORABLE in every sense of the word! I’m sad to report we decided not to take Yoda home because Carlos has his heart set on bringing home a puppy.

I was sad to leave Yoda there but I know there is a perfect addition in our future soon. I can’t wait to find the puppy and am so excited. Carlos said at the end of September we can look more seriously – did I mention I can’t wait?!

How do I Yoga?
I’ve done yoga twice in my life. I really enjoyed it, it was very calming. My friend MizFit sent me a yoga mat to help give me an outlet for all of this emotion I’ve been dealing with the past month.

Thanks MizFit!

This is all I know how to do on a yoga mat.
Just lay there! HA!

A couple months ago, I was going to try to incorporate more yoga into my life and had heard about yogadownload.com. This is a site that offers free yoga instruction to download as well as some classes you can buy.

I tried both – I tried a couple of the free as well as paid for 2 (not expensive at all). But the problem is the free ones were audio only and I didn’t know the names of the poses so didn’t make it very far. The ones you can buy have the option of coming with slides powerpoint so I spent more time waiting for the slide to change instead of concentrating on my breathing.

so…I’m taking it to the blog. There are so many yoga DVD’s to chose from – does anyone have any beginner video’s to recommend? I am looking for something relaxing but also a workout.

Alright friends, better get going. Have a great Monday!
