The Day My Life Changed...

I started on my journey in August of 2007. For two years I fought, kicked and cried my way through losing 90+lbs. I was well on my way to hitting an official 100lbs lost by August 1st, 2009 which was my 2 year anniversary. I was planning a big 'ol celebration around here... until my life changed the evening before my final weigh-in. (Click here for more info).

Join me now, as I reevaluate my priorities, struggle to find out what "healthy" is while dealing with an emotional trauma, and continue to learn how to live a healthy life, no sugar coating included.

We broke up!

It's official. The relationship is over. Done with. Capoot. Nada. No more. I know - all the happy talk I did, gone. Just like that.

My trainer broke up with me!

Our short lived relationship was less than 2 weeks! I went to meet with him on Tuesday night and just like that he was deleted his name off my little calender. He said something about "It's not you, it's me" - something about moving to a new location, the location was better for him, and blah blah. I tuned him out. All I could hear was the sound of my internal cries.

So, the search begins again. sigh. big sigh. Its so hard to find a trainer. Sure, the gym is full of them, but ya really gotta connect with a trainer. It's not just about handing me a weight and telling me to do something. It's a relationship. I'll keep you posted!

(I know I know, I'm a drama queen...haha! I'm really not THAT upset)

Happy Weekend!
I mentioned yesterday, Carlos niece came in last night - she lives in Boston. I am so excited to hang out with her, she is so fun! Not sure what today & the weekend will entail but just know there will be some fun pictures, lots of food (as always) and good stories next week!

Lenira & Me, back in November

My goal this weekend is to not let my break-up with my trainer and a our out-of-town guest derail me. Weekends still count in the game of health!

Fruit 2 Day
I don't drink juice. Really. I don't. Not a fan of OJ. Apple juice doesn't do it for me. Banana, Pineapple, strawberry, kiwi combo juices taste fine but not enough to go out and buy it. So when my friend, Sherri from Single Edition asked if I would try something called Fruit2Day, I was hesitant. But I said sure. It came with a pretty powerful claim of having 2 servings of fruit in each container but for only 110-120 calories. The website says: "A new way to eat fruit: So drink it, sip it, chew it and enjoy two servings of fruit like you never have before!"

Chew it?
Yup, I was a little nervous but the bottles were cute :)
So a couple of days ago, I grabbed a bottle and gave it a try on my way to work. and what do you know, surprise surprise, it was WAY YUMMY! Weird at first because you expect a drink and you get a drink with chunks of fruit.
priorfatgirl approved!
All Natural
110-120 calories
2 Servings of fruit each
No sugar added
They sent me a couple of coupons for 2 free bottles so I may use it in a giveaway coming up - I was just thinking how its been MONTHS since we did a giveaway. Stay tuned!

Alright kids, Happy 4th of July for my U.S. Readers - and for everyone, another challenge update already right around the corner! See ya Monday!

Sorry about your trainer - I totally get how having the right one can make or break your workouts. I hope you find a good one soon!

Definitely frustrating about the trainer! I'm sure you'll be able to find one that you can make a good connection with. It will just be trial and error, i guess :)

Have a wonderful 4th!!

That's a hard thing...change...I think we all can raise our waterbottles on that one. I get so mad that I push myself away and say forget. Jen, don't do that, there's a special trainer there for you. Plus you could be a trainer yourself...no I'm not kidding with you. You know what you need to do.

I do hope you have a great week end. Hi to Lenera. I'm sure she's going to have fun. I can tell by the smile. Plus you have Carlos to add to the pot. Carlos is full of giggles and kicks.

Love you
Mom
I may try the juice but I'm a fan of fruit smoothies

Even though I know you're deeply sad at this moment, you put a smile on my face with your break-up story.

Fruit2Day is being sold in The Netherlands for quiet some years now (Hero is a dutch brand) and I buy it weekly for my lover who doesn't eat fruit very much.

Have a nice weekend too!

Drama! Jen! I started reading the post and after the first couple of words I started getting scared and thinking you and Carlos broke up and I was screaming (in my head so my husband didn't think I was nuts) NOOOOOO!

Glad that my fears are incorrect. Now onto the trainer.....say what?? Obviously HE has issues. Good luck finding someone SOOO much better! I can totally relate in not wanting to change up your routine once you are used to it. I am struggling with that RIGHT now (and haven't had the energy to blog about it, but a post is in the works).

Hmm, those fruit drinks/cups look good. Something totally up my alley. I will have to keep my eye out for those at the store.

Happy 4th Jen!!!

OMG you scared me so much at first I thought you were talking about you and Carlos and my heart literally stopped beating. Don't scare me like that!

Sorry about the trainer. There are many more, you will be fine! Glad you liked the juice. You should go to a juice stand one day and try a green juice, I think you'd be surprised by how much you like it!

I broke up with McDonalds for good a year and a half ago, but we were off and on for five years!

Every time I would stay away, McDonalds would come back to me. I looked at McDonalds and would say "You had me at McRib!"

What an idiot I was! I am glad it is over, just like you and your trainer!

I'm sorry he broke up with you. He is obviously clueless.

I'm so sorry about the break-up. You'll find another one soon...I hope. Like you said, it can be quite frustrating trying to find one that you can truly feel a connection with. Now, Fruit2day...never heard of it. It sounds like an interesting product though. Thanks for sharing.
