A sweaty story = proof!

by Jen, a priorfatgirl on July 7, 2009

Thanks for all of your encouragement yesterday – this really will be a very tough couple of weeks but I am excited and felt very energized yesterday. So much, in fact that I marched myself right to the gym and to the corner. I looked the stair stepper machine square in the eyes.

Have you seen this machine? It’s scary. Big & scary. Big, mean & scary. I’m not kidding – if you have little kids, you should make sure to hug & comfort them after seeing this machine.

Anyways, I was pretty energized after all of your comments yesterday and was ready to kick some serious butt at the gym. So I hopped my 6lbs to go butt on the scary machine and typed in 45 minutes.

No on in their right mind would do 45 minutes on that machine! When I first started, 1.5 years ago, I couldn’t do 5 minutes. Now here I was, attempting to do 45 minutes.

If you follow me on twitter, you may have already read the tweets. It was pretty intense. I thought I was going to die. I was pretty sure I had seen Jesus’ face. Yup, I got my butt kicked. And, just to prove it, I stopped a complete stranger in the locker room and asked her to take a picture of my sweaty back.

You see that my friends? That’s me – I’m going to kick these last 6lbs to the curb. It’s a throw down. I’m not holding back. I’m going to push through. Not only that sweaty back sweat, but you see my soaked dripping wet hair?!!

Side challenge: Prove to me your serious about this challenge too. Post your sweaty-ness picture on your blog (or email to me and I’ll post it on mine). Do it. DO IT DO IT DO IT. AND…if you do, leave a comment here with a link to your blog post and I’ll link back to it & show all of our challenge friends you mean business!

Weekend Recap
Ok, on with a recap from the holiday weekend. Thursday night, we picked up Carlos’ neice, Linera, at the airport and then went Big Bowl. They have this really cool make your own stir fry option.

Jen’s Stir Fry: Tofu, broccoli, peas, corn,
carrots, pea pods, water chestnuts, pineapple,
bean sprouts & lima beans. No sauce, just steamed to
PeRfEcTiOn!

Friday morning, I woke up and used left
over veggies to put in my scrambled
eggs. Carlos & Linera had sausage & eggs.

Friday night for dinner, we went to Red Dragon (our favorite place to go!) We met Toby & David there who are always a RIOT!

Toby, me, David & Linera

I ordered a bowl of Hot & Sour SoupAnd an order of pot stickers

I may have had a Almond Ding Delite (or 3)

After dinner we all went to go see The Proposal…but someone who had 3 Almond Ding Delites may have fallen asleep and missed the entire thing.

After the movie, we said goodbye to Toby & David and then went home. Dan was home, so we all stayed up and played poker. I won. Yep, lil’ ol me beat Dan, Carlos and Linera.

Dan and Carlos are scared to play poker with me.

Saturday we all woke up and lounged around for a bit, then went to a baseball game.

I may have found myself holding an ice cream cone…but I swear I didn’t eat the whole thing. Actually, when I order ice cream cones, I ask for a cup and always scrape off the top 3-5 inches. I really just want to ice cream filled cone and find someone to give the cup of ice cream to.

After the game, we went to the Taste of Minnesota. This is basically an outdoor festival with music and vendor after vendor after vendor of fried foods on a stick.

Wouldn’t you know it, someone dropped a corn dog in my hand!

Carlos chowed down on some cheese curds (ok, I stole a couple but they were tiny).

We watched the fireworks which they shot off over the Mississippi river then made our way back home. Sunday, we woke up and all went to the Mall of America. After we got back, Linera showed me how to make Cachupa. This is a story in itself – I’ll have to share it with ya’ll some other time.

But for now, lemme just end with this exciting news. Amanda, another priorfatgirl will be checking in with us tomorrow and she has…

SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS NEWS!

So check back tomorrow – don’t be a loser!
