June 2009

Whew… already not so good at this whole blogging thing. I was going to aim for blogging everyday or every other… whoops!

Anyways, on to it. I had a fabulous week. I joined the Y right after Memorial Day for their summer membership that runs Memorial Day to Labor Day. I began working out on June 1st. My personal goal for the month was to get to the gym 20 out of the 30 days in June. Today, I am at 18 days. So, I will go tonight since I take a Kettlebell class on Monday nights and Tuesdays I usually play softball for a co-ed league that I am in, but I just realized that since it’s the week of the 4th, we don’t have our game tomorrow. I think I might just end up rollerblading or something because I spent the last FIVE days at the gym. Which is good… but I need a little change. :) So, I will hit my 20 days for the month – go me!

I went to my WW meeting on Friday and I lost 4.4 pounds – well, I guess I’m going the right direction! -4.4 is good!

So, how did I lose 4.4 this week…? Honestly – just working out. I did make better food decisions, but I was not following the WW plan – speaking of WW, I am cancelling my membership, I actually did it this morning. No use in paying $40 a month when I’m not even following plan! So, I will stick to my own plan… or as I feel still, lack there of. I don’t want to do a crazy plan, I know I will never stick with a crazy plan. That’s why I’m just trying to make better food choices, eat “bad” foods in moderation, but eat them none the less IF I want them. We’ll see how it goes. But apparently, so far, so good. :)

Anyways peeps, I’m out. I’m at work… should probably find something productive and WORK related to do. :)

Have an amazing day!

xoxo
Lindsay

I totally wanted to dedicate today’s post to showing you ALL THE PICTURES from this weekend!!! OMG – you are going to die when you see all of this food (hint: my dinner is looking at me…AGAIN!) Have any of you been to a Vietnamese wedding reception before? INSANELY YUMMNESS FOOD! Seriously, it was SO GOOD!

But, tis Monday which means Challenge Update Day…so pictures will have to wait until tomorrow (ha, I know, I’m a tease!)

Challenge Update
Starting Weight: 150lbs
Goal Weight: 140lbs
Current Weight: 145lbs (no change)

well well well, yep – I guess it’s okay to stay the same this week since I’ve had quite a first month of loss (5lbs in the first month of the challenge) AND since I had a pretty intense Saturday full of eating!

How are YOU doing? Do you realize we have a little over 4 weeks left in this challenge. Are you half way to your goal? If not, you have some serious dedication to put in…or be prepared to give away $50 of your hard earned moolah! Leave a comment with your update… and be sure to stop over and check in with Annabel @ Feed Me I’m Cranky!

This is the end of the post but you know me, gotta throw in some a teaser photo:

See ya bloggin’ buddings tomorrow!

Food is on my mind. Why? Because I eat it. A lot. Seriously. I do eat a lot. Carlos is convinced I eat more than him because I eat all the time! Lots of little things, normally never a huge meal.

I thought I’d dedicate a post to pictures of some of my favorites…sit back, scroll through and enjoy!

Just remember though, Monday is challenge update day - you DO NOT GET THE WEEKEND OFF from being healthy. This is the rest of your life. This is not a job.

English muffin, Boca burger
& cheese = yummy!

ooohhh…Jennie-O Turkey Franks! Splurge and have 2 cuz its only 70 calories each!

Who would have thought calorie free would taste good?!

Oatmeal & psyllium husk – my morning ritual!

A good start to so many meals!

Every day is a day for soup!

Frozen meals, yep, still my friend!

I heart egg beaters! I heart toast!

Can one live off hummus alone? Can I try?

Clif bars, ya’ll know these are good!

Popchips, one word: AMAZING!!!

Holey Donuts = Holey Yumness!

I dream of strawberry’s!

At least one of each, every day. I swear!

If I see this flavor in the store, I buy THEM ALL!

Sweet potato fries, does a body good!

Popcorn, my first love. Ask my mom!

Spaghetti squash & meat sauce
Are you kidding me? Puhlease, try these!

ooohhh….really can’t live without Special K Cereal w/ Strawberry’s!

Salad with chicken & grapes, perfect combination!

I know I am missing so many more of my favorites! You should leave a comment with your favorite healthy snack or meal so I can try it. Or, link to a recipe!

A day of celebration
On Saturday, Carlos and I have the honor of attending our good friends, Sandy & Tuyen wedding. I have known Sandy for probably 6 years…

I’m a little nervous because I am the personal attendant and it will be a very traditional Vietnamese wedding, beginning early in the morning. I have to be at Sandy’s house at 7:30am on Saturday. She said they have a family get together in the morning, sort of like a bridal shower, then everyone goes to Mass. Then the actual wedding ceremony, followed by a reception and after the reception downtown. I have 3 dresses to wear! One is a very traditional, beautiful beautiful outfit, the other two (1 for the reception & 1 for downtown) are more what you would find in the malls here in the U.S.

Stay tuned for a ton of pictures!!! Have a great weekend and don’t forget to leave a comment with your favorite healthy food for me to try!
