Ok, two stories to share both I find humorous, so read them, no skimming ok?
First, just wanted to call your attention to my friend Heidi’s blog because after reading the hummus post yesterday, Heidi added a super easy recipe on her blog. Looks easy as 1.2.3! I will try it in June.
Grocery Shopping Alone
A couple of weeks ago, on a Monday, I called Carlos after work and told him that I needed to stop at the grocery store, which I normally do alone. As I turned down the frozen meal isle, I saw Carlos coming towards me, so I wouldn’t have to do the shopping alone (chorus of aaawws please?!).
As we were going up and down the isles, I realized why I prefer to go alone. It seemed there was more and more which was “falling” off the shelves and landing perfectly nestled in THE CART! Included in this, was a bag of nothing other then Devil’s Perfect Temptation Cool Ranch Doritos.
A couple of days later, Carlos came home and asked where the Doritos were. I lowered my eyes towards the ground and pointed to the top of the cabinets (see the little bit of blue up there?)

You see, I had come home from work that following Thursday and the Doritos began to taunt me. I was never picked on in elementary school but I imagine that is what it would have felt like. Slowly, they began to enter my mouth. Carressing my tastebuds & bringing back so many memories. In a moment of strength, I caught myself. I threw the Doritos as high in the air as I could and they landed way out of reach. That…that was my safety
I’ve been working a lot the past couple of days, getting ready for the conference in Boston Saturday through Wednesday. Last night, I was still at work at about 7:30pm and got a reminder from my tummy that I was hungry. I found a box of wheat thins and grabbed a couple. At around 8:15pm, I decided 12 hours was a long enough day and I should go home. I reached in to grab a couple more wheat thins and guess what?
The box was flippin’ empty! I had just eaten 1/2 box of wheat thins! CRAP! What a sh*ty dinner! Wheat thins are not the worst thing in the world, better then say a bag of Doritos…but it’s not grapes!
And to make it worse, by the time I got home at 8:45pm, I was hungry. Wheat thins obviously do nothing to fill the stomach. I warmed up a Smart Ones frozen meal, 240 calories and still went to bed hungry.
Lesson learned, DO NOT EAT STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!
I just gotta make through May. (I’ll explain tomorrow!)
