Hungry-Girl
Um….have you not heard me talk about this lady Hungry-Girl ENOUGH?! Seriously. You need to go to her website and sign up for her daily e-newsletter. I promise its not just another silly email. It’s super short and is just enough to read and be interesting and move on – you won’t skim. Anyways, I finally got around to getting the Hungry-Girl cookbook and have tried a couple of recipes I thought I’d share.
(Note: I’m not giving specific measurements because ya’ll gotta buy the book, its TOTALLY worth the $10)
1st Recipe: Chicken Pot Pie…
Ingredients: Mixed veggies, 1 can fat free cream of celery, chicken & reduced fat crescent rolls
Cut chicken into bite size pieces & cook with a little seasoning…
Cook veggies per instructions on bag
Add veggies & cream of celery
Put in glass dish and cover with dough
Official Carlos Verdict: “This is YUMMY!”
2nd Recipe: Sloppy Janes…
Ingredients: Ground turkey, tomato sauce, red whine vinegar, onion, sugar
cook turkey, add everything else and perfection!
Official Carlos Verdict: “Let’s have Slappy Janes EVERY DAY!!!”

Carlos and I are going to a Cape Verdean concert tonight – for those of you who don’t know, Carlos was born on an island called Cape Verde and moved to Boston when he was 3. A well known artist from the island is coming to Minneapolis tonight, so we are headed there. Saturday should be pretty quite and then Sunday I’m going swimsuit shopping with Amanda, another priorfatgirl. (She will be guest blogging on Tuesday, make sure to come check her out!)
