Hummus in my purse – and a contest!

How was your weekend? Mine was WONDERFUL!

DOMINOS PIZZA MOMENT

Carlos was sick last week – he got a horrible cold. On Monday, he asked if we could order a pizza. I told him I had a better idea and made the chicken pot pie (click here to read about it). Tuesday, he came home and asked again if we could order a pizza.

I debated verbally. With myself. Back and forth. I told him yes and then I said no. And then I said yes. And so he quickly ordered before I changed my mind again.

I told him I was only going to have one piece. When the pizza came, I grabbed it and degreased the top of it.

Ok, I was already grossed out by the grease but I (thought) I was excited to eat a piece of pizza. I slowly picked the piece of pizza up and brought it close to my lips.

And like a dramatic moment in a movie, I quickly caught myself, threw the pizza down, ran for the cupboard and made myself some cereal. (I like bran flakes with a little splenda and sugar free strawberry jelly in it, my own creation)

I had some fruit and a couple of hours later, had some left over chicken pot pie.

Yay for me! That’s a non-scale victory!!!

Hummus in my purse!

Friday night, Carlos, Amanda, another priorfatgirl, and I went to see a Cape Verdean artist Carmen Souza concert. It was great. She mixed a lot of Portuguese music with Cape Verdean dialects and had a very strong jazz influence.

Before the concert, we went out for dinner. Here is Amanda and me

Carlos and I ate a veggie De-lite pizza from Papa Murphys before we left, so we didn’t need much for dinner. Carlos ordered cheese curds
I ordered a hummus & pita platterI couldn’t eat it all, so I asked for a to-go container for the hummus. Carlos thought I was nuts but this hummus was way to good and I totally insisted on taking it with.

So for the night, I had hummus in my purse :)

Fullbar Review & Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago, Genesis, from Fullbar asked if I would try some of Fullbar’s and see what I thought. The concept of these bars is you are suppose to eat them 30 minutes prior to your regular meal along with 8oz of water and its suppose to help you not eat as much.

One of the flavors Genesis sent was the Carmel Apple Crisp.

If you have tried Honey Smacks cereal, it has the same look just in a bar shape. The “glue” that holds the bar together is the apple cinnamon flavor. The texture takes a little getting use to…it kind of tastes like the honey smacks stayed in the cupboard too long – but not like stale cereal.

Calories: 160
Fat: 1g
Fiber: 5g

Anyways, I ate this at noon with a bottle of water. I didn’t follow the directions – I actually ended up waiting about an hour and a half and then had a sandwich & an apple. I did feel like the bar helped me not get as hungry as I normally would however I am not sure if eating another fiber or protein bar would have had the same effect?

Contest

The winner of this weeks contest will receive samples of the Fullbar flavor of their choice!

Here is how to enter:

Stay tuned tomorrow, Amanda, the other priorfatgirl is going to check in with us!
