I am a priorfatgirlI am a priorfatgirl that just ran a 5K

No tears, but a smile from ear to ear as I crossed the finish line! I never in my wildest dreams though I would be there. I’ll back up for a minute… and give you a little more details!

Friday night I tossed and turned. Half anxious because of the race, half nervous because Carlos was gone and I don’t like being home alone. I managed to get about five hours of sleep.
My sister, Heidi helped me make a shirt with a picture of me before on it. Here is the front and the back! Cute huh?!

We arrived at check in and they gave me my number. #3. I didn’t think anything of it until I walked over to pick up my t-shirt and someone said “Hey, how much weight have you lost” I responded and said 100lbs (I round up from 95lbs okay? Yeah, I admit it what are you gonna do about it?)

The lady then pointed to my number and with a HUGE smile told me my number meant I was the 3rd biggest loser in the whole race!!! There were only two people in the whole race who had lost more weight then I did!

I have some great pictures, I’ll let them do the talking…

Me and Jeanette, who has lost 50lbs. Her first 5K too!

My cuz Kirsten, the one who encouraged me to do this!!! THANKS KIRSTEN!!

My friend Amanda and I – this was Amanda’s first 5K too!

Lined up at the start line, I got front row!

Two laps around beautiful Lake Como… Amanda and I seemed to be pretty close the entire time. Right at the end, she pulled ahead, here she is looking back, telling me to catch up!

AND I FINISHED!!

30:06 Minutes

Amanda and I, trying to catch our breath!

Cuz, Kirsten and I all sweaty after the run!

The whole gang, my supporters, my friends!

My parents, who have always been so supportive! Love you both!

A group of us went out for breakfast after the race…I got egg beaters and some spicy sausage, I don’t remember the name of it. I ate all of the eggs, most of the sausage and 1 piece of toast. YUMMY!!

They had a chalk board at our booth, my cuz announced to the world about our 5K!

Wow…I can’t believe I did that. Losing weight has not only allowed me to feel so much healthier but I am now able to do things I didn’t even imagine were possible!

My hope is that all of you continue to push yourself to do things you didn’t think were possible. It is only when we push ourselves past what is possible, that we can achieve the impossible.
