Wow, the photo shoot was so fun last night! Shannon, the reporter came over and we just sat at the dining room table and talked. It was pretty normal except for a camera behind her shoulder. Shannon said the clip will be available online sometime next Monday she thinks, so I’ll definitely link to it!
What I ate
A couple of post’s ago, I mentioned when I started out on my healthy journey, I ate healthy – everything I learned about, everything I knew I was suppose to eat. I also mentioned I didn’t think I should type out an entire weeks worth of what I ate for someone to copy it item by item.
Well, someone nicely pointed out that some people just may not KNOW what is healthy. And to be honest, I never considered that. So here goes – please note, this is just my version of what I did. There may have been days when I didn’t follow this 100% and changed it up a little.
Who remembers the food pyramid from middle school? It looks like this:
When I started to watch what I ate, I counted calories. The past week, as I was reflecting on my food journal, I realized my food pyramid pyramid actually looked more like this:

You see what I did there? I realized I switched the fruits & veggies category with the carb category. I didn’t cut anything out, just switched things around. I counted calories and tried to stay between 1300-1600 a day. I counted calories for an entire year.
I ate more fruits and veggies then I did anything else. When I was craving something but wasn’t ready for a meal, I allowed myself to eat as many carrots as I wanted (toot toot)! I also let myself have all the fruit I could handle!
P.S. there is so much more to this eating thing then I can type in a blog, in one post. You would probably be bored to tears reading all my thoughts, so I’ll save it for later!
Working Out
On top of making changes to my food, I got my butt in the gym. None of this pansey walking
on the treadmill (starting out walking is fine, if that’s all you can do but you better not be doing it for long!) Nope, I pushed myself beyond what I ever thought I could do. I walked for a couple of weeks, till I got my limbs used to moving.
Then I ventured out to other machines. I tried the stair stepper. I tried the elliptical. I tried the bike. And when I got on a machine, I stayed there. No 15 minute workouts. I never did less then 30 minutes.
AND…on top of pushing myself and trying all the machines, I didn’t lie to myself. I didn’t let myself believe i could work out 3 days a week and lose weight. YOU WON’T LOSE WEIGHT WALKING 3x A WEEK!
You gotta push yourself!
So…here is my condensed version of what I did. This isn’t all of it, this isn’t even half of it. The biggest thing is to be honest with yourself. When your out to eat, YOU KNOW mayo isn’t good for you, you know french fries aren’t good for you. YOU KNOW working out will burn calories.
Living what I say

Yesterday, I blogged about how hungry I was and how I just wanted to eat eat eat eat eat. Well, just as I typed above, I let myself have all the fruit I want. AND…it just so happens I ate 2 banana’s, 2 pears and 1 apple just to get through the day!
